The Escapists by Anthony Beal

Genre:
Erotica/paranormal

Michael's Synopsis:
Esme is a wealthy woman, but having inherited her wealth, has spent her life futilely chasing some kind of meaning and fulfillment. Reynaldo is a gigolo working at a lush resort in Brazil where the guests' sexual appetites are served as magnificently as their gastronomic ones. The two of them are fated for more than they know, because the island holds a secret—ancient gods and goddess who are intent on resolving long-held disputes through the island’s inhabitants and guests.

Excerpt:
The boy's head of blonde curls rose into view above Esme's uncovered sex and between her upraised knees. From her vantage point, framed between the peaks of her breasts, his straw-colored hair and beaming countenance resembled the sun rising to spill its warmth over a valley oasis and throughout surrounding flesh flatlands.

The beautiful Brazilian youth smiled at her, his expression as coy and delicate as a girl's. Esme restrained herself from uttering as his hot breath sought and found a place to brand his intentions into her flesh. She didn't need to utter, though. Her body language betrayed her; her squirming, the subtle fluttering of eyelids and hardening of nipples attested to his prodigy. Esme wavered between feeling enamored of him and repulsed by him. Often these feelings took her simultaneously, more often than not, during those final seconds of coherence that she enjoyed before the slender youth drew forth her orgasm and reduced her to his whore begging to be soiled, taken any way he pleased. During these times, Esme wished his presence inside her multiplied. She wished for several of him to smile reassurance upon her as his manipulations of her flesh and spirit worked profanities into her body that inevitably sought their emancipation through her mouth.

The boy was infuriating, the condescension in his smiles an ever-present offense, its insult doubled because he reserved its exhibition only for sexual encounters. It angered Esme, who had known the sacrament that was his face touched by sincerity. If his face was her sun, then the genuine smiles he showed to her were its rays, as warming and nourishing to her as ever sunlight had been to a rose. The look in his eyes as he flicked his tongue across her clitoris nourished only her sense of resentment and faint embarrassment over the swiftness of his success in having entrenched himself as firmly under her skin as he had. Esme's disdain turned her eye from his. She felt too much like he was mocking her when he smiled as he currently did. His calmness disconcerted her for how it bordered on detachment. The calmer he remained during their dalliances that so animated her, the larger seemed the slight. That this youth should love her with such skill and yet such aplomb, that he should derive lesser excitement from utterly spending a sexually available older woman than she did from being spent was a more humbling experience than Esme had expected to have on holiday.

Esme cried out as his mouth caressed her twitching sex. The flagellations of his tongue, the tensile brutality of his hard hands, barely restrained when he took her, often restrained not at all, were more assault than she could silently enjoy.

"Stop, stop. Enough," she told him, placing a protesting hand atop his head. Her erogenous places screamed against the act. Esme wanted him inside her. She wanted even more a response from the slender youth. Her legs restless with her unsated lust, Esme twisted away from her lover's tongue, denying its dexterity so advanced for its years the chance to push her any nearer to climax. He filled her heart with exhilarating contempt by pursuing her, climbing onto the table, smiling with every step.

Esme pushed against his chest, her eyes pleading for quarter that she lacked breath to request. She feared what physical mutinies his rough handling might win. The youth dominated her easily, barely exerting himself.

Splayed like an exotic butterfly affixed to an entomologist's display, Esme's every conflicted torment played out upon her face as she felt her sex tingle. Inflamed ardor filled the boy's eyes along with curiosity, with the mocking amusement of a school bully subduing the plain, quiet girl that never talked in class. Esme knew however, and without undue immodesty, that "plain" was something she had never been.

The boy's mouth covered hers with his kiss, drinking Esme at leisure the way a man enjoys aged and expensive spirits after a sumptuous meal. And if sexuality was sustenance, then Esme was a banquet of which his lovemaking suggested he would not soon have his fill. . .

Michael's Review:
"A sensual viscosity defined his movements, like taffy pulled to and fro, a radiant heat that recalled molten things in the way he seemed to flow about when arousal took him, which was often."

This one of the most delightfully written pieces of erotica I have ever read. The author's prose is both meticulous and languid, deliberate yet letting the imagery he calls up do all the work. Sentences like the one I quoted the above litter the book from beginning to end. I kept stopping to marvel at the way these stretches of text were put together.

The storytelling is equally expert. The characters are richly detailed and vivid, and despite the large cast in this book, they all come across as real and believable. I hesitate to say too much about what happens, because this book kept me guessing and turning the pages to the very end.

If I have a criticism, and it seems a crime to even suggest such a thing, it’s that the pedestrian cover gives no hint whatsoever at the delights that lay within. A book this lapidary deserves a better skin.

Alien Brood by Helen Atreya

Genre:
Paranormal/Lactation/Lesbian

Synopsis:
Mia is flat broke and running out of options when she stumbles across a strange but tempting job ad. $35 an hour, no experience necessary? It seems too good to be true!

Things start to get weird immediately: Hawthorn manor is a crumbling mansion in the middle of a creepy swamp and it appears there are only two other people living there. Margrete, the beautiful and enigmatic head maid, and Madison, the gorgeous chef who makes meals that could win Michelin stars.

Why do they stay here in the middle of nowhere, where there isn't even good cell reception?

Mia's first night is full of even stranger occurrences. She wakes to find Madison and Margrete together in bed, and then Mia finds herself at the mercy of a lustful swarm of tentacles! She manages to convince herself it was only a dream but when Madison is suddenly very pregnant the next day, Mia has more questions than answers and starts to wonder if she might be next. And... if that might be a good thing.

My Review:
As I've ventured into exploring a variety of erotica, I've discovered a couple of really interesting fetishes... one of which being the lactation fetish. To my surprise Alien Brood highlighted the lactation fetish more-so than any other erotica I've read to date. If you're looking for one of these rare treasures, then you wont be disappointed with Alien Brood! However, I will say that I wished our main character Mia did not spend so much time of this story convincing herself that what she experienced didn't truly happen. Even so, Helen did an excellent job of introducing her readers to this unique setting, and (you guessed it) I loved how she worked the paranormal aspect of her scenes as well. Alien Brood is definitely a story that is not easily categorized, making it a truly unique tale.

Bad Magic: Part 1 by Kali Marie

Genre:
Fantasy/Rough sex/BDSM

Michael's Synopsis:
Gia is a Sun Weaver—a sort of sex priestess/temple prostitute—in an unnamed village. She’s a virgin when the story opens, preparing to sell her virginity to the richest man in the village. But a strange man, who appears to be some sort of demon or evil spirt, has been visiting her, watching her from afar. Gia is both frightened and aroused by his attentions, and eventually tries to offer herself to him. But he has other plans for her.

Michael's Review:
This is a reasonably well-written fantasy piece that avoids most of the typical pitfalls of the genre. I particularly appreciated that the author refrained from the usual “infodump” to open the story, instead letting me figure things out as I went along. The plot has some nice twists and turns and kept me guessing for most of it. The sex is pretty rough and violent, what you might almost refer to as a sex fight—it’s certainly not romantic. If that’s not your thing, this is not the story for you. But if you enjoy fantasy fiction and don’t mind things getting rough, you should enjoy this. It would have benefitted from more careful editing, but this is still much better written than a lot of self-published stuff I’ve read.

Now Janey must choose between Nicholas, and the leader of the tribe: Dexaucon.

Or maybe Dexaucon is going to make the decision for her.

5 Reviews From Amazon:
"I really enjoyed this book, it was a nicely written erotic adventure that while short was more than worth the read. Unlike a lot of books in this genre, Seduction Island takes the time to actually develop the characters. I know that might not seem like a big deal, but I for one do not like reading about boring one dimensional characters who just stumble from one persons bed to another.

Each chapter was told from the point of view of a different character helping the reader to get to know (and care) about why someone was doing what with who. The dialogue was really well written and every erotic scene was exciting with just the right amount of detail and build up. Overall it was a fun read that I would recommend to anyone who likes to read QUALITY erotica." ~Lebora

"This book was absolutely wonderful! Kasper Rawlson weaves a fantastic and erotic tale full of complex and fascinating characters; from their desires to their dynamics, this hot and saucy group will keep you highly engaged and wanting more.

The sex is hot, adventurous and erotic and the tribe is downright captivating; it's an interesting and vital mix of fantasy, romance and drama that comes highly recommended for anyone who needs a satisfyingly sensual and intense read- if you're looking to curl up with a highly entertaining and adventurous tale, Seduction Island Secrets is just the thing!" ~Lucy S.

"I borrowed this book from the Kindle Unlimited program and I had no idea the kind of treat that I was going to be in for. This was electrifying and perfect book to curl up with and get lost in. Every trist and every turn to seduction was held with deep desire and passion. I thought it was a fabulous read that brought about great character chemistry. I can't wait to read Book 2!" ~Booklover

The Stranger: Book 1 by Eloa Hall

Genre:
Stranger Sex/Exhibitionism

Michael's Synopsis:
Lace is getting over a bad breakup with a man who cheated on her. In a fit of impulsiveness fortified by too much wine, she installs a Tinder-like app on her phone that’s designed to facilitate anonymous sexual encounters by using your phone’s GPS. The next day, while out to lunch with a friend, an alert pops up on her phone: There’s someone nearby looking for sex. What should she do? Feeling like she needs to break loose somehow, she accepts the invite, not sure what will happen. Then she discovers that her mysterious partner is right in the same restaurant; in fact, he’s the tall, dark stranger at the next table. After battling her inhibitions for several minutes while making eyes at this hot guy, she ditches her friend and disappears into the alley behind the restaurant, where they have a quick, hot fuck.

Michael's Review:
I liked this. I really liked it. The author does an excellent job setting things up, giving us a good picture of Lace’s uncertainty and insecurity, mixed her with desire to do something wild to get over her breakup. The encounter doesn’t happen right away, either. She spends some time letting the tension and energy build while Lace decides what to do, even as she’s lifting her skirt to discreetly expose her soaked panties to this unnamed guy. The sex is hot and the author takes her time with it, not diving right into things. If you’re in the mood for something short, sweet, and hot, this will fit the bill.

Morsel Monday: Introducing Michael Dalton!

It is with great pleasure that I'm announcing Michael Dalton has joined me as a reviewer on this blog! Anyone who has perused my Policies Page is well aware that this blog is backlogged for reviews for two years!! And so, I've brought Micheal on board to help me with my TBR list. I don't want all my lovely authors to have to wait such a long time for a review, and so that's where Michael's role will come into play. Michael is "a professional journalist who has published quite a few mainstream book reviews" and so while you all know and love my reviews, the books he reviews will still be in good hands!! You will see any reviews he writes posted on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, and we will both approach my TBR list on a first come first serve basis as described on my Policies Page.

Here is a little more about Michael:
"I wrote my first piece of fiction in third grade (for a teacher who accused me of copying it from somewhere else), and I’ve been plugging away at writing pretty much ever since. In the late 1990s, I discovered the Usenet, and began publishing my stories—mostly erotica—there for about three or four years, garnering a large following and a lot of fans. I co-founded Ruthie’s Club, an erotic fiction web site, in 2001. Family, work, and other things pulled me away from fiction writing for about ten years or so, but I never gave up my love of the craft.

I’ve recently returned to writing and publishing fiction, and am in the process of republishing some of my favorite stuff from my Usenet days, which I have updated and revised. I’m also preparing some new material that I will be publishing going forward. I hope you enjoy it."

Stay tuned - Michael's first review is coming tomorrow!

Guest Post: Publishing with Create Space

How to Publish Your Book with Create Space
Guest Post by Billierosie

I am absolutely thrilled that my book, Fetish Transcendence, is available, not just as an e-read, but as an actual, physical book, with pages and stuff! I know, I know, I sound like one of those idiots you see on the shopping channels effusing about how the light catches on a crappy zircon bangle, but I really am thrilled and it wasn’t difficult to do, not really.

And it did not cost me one single penny!

I did it through Create Space…I’m not sure if it’s an Amazon, or a Kindle company; probably both. But here’s what Create Space say about themselves.

"The publishing industry is evolving. Hundreds of thousands of authors like you are publishing profitable work right now instead of waiting for agents and publishers to give the green light.
With Create Space you can easily access tools, quality printing, booksellers, eBook distribution, and marketing strategies so that you can generate more opportunities than you imagined – all while building your following of readers.

Over a decade ago, we started this business with the intention of helping artists grow and be successful. This momentum (along with royalties you've earned) tells us that it's working, and we're really proud to be a part of that success."

The bit that I got stuck at was uploading my book and formatting. I also found shrinking the cover image to fit the size of the dimensions Create Space give you, difficult. But luckily, I had my friend, Francis Potts to help me…and it all went through okay, right through to the point where you have to proofread the book.

This is the only point where finances are involved. Create Space will send you a proof copy of your book, but you have to pay for mailing. You are not charged for the proof copy. There are, if I remember correctly, three options to choose from – I wanted the book quickly, so I chose the most expensive -- £14 to the UK. Create Space are working from the US, so it’s an overseas transaction.

I proofread it and ordered 10 copies of Fetish Transcendence to give to family and friends. You can set your own purchase price, within Create Space’s guidelines. I chose to market mine at £3.51 in the UK, $5.65 in the US.

When you proof read, do not for get to check the text on your front and back covers – I didn’t, and an error slipped through. I told Create Space and the error can be corrected, but it will take 2 to 3 weeks to get to the printed copy of the book. I mention this, just because it’s a hassle that you can do without.

Christina asked me about my choice of cover – Michelangelo’s David. I studied Art History at University and I became overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of Michelangelo’s sculptures. The image of the David also seemed appropriate – given that it must claim to be the most fetishised work of art – ever! Women lust over Michelangelo’s vision of David in his prime – so do men…

I think that if you can get your head around publishing an e-book, you’ll be absolutely fine with Create Space.

And having your book with actual pages, and with the cover image that you chose, or designed, so carefully; well it gave me a real buzz and I am still smiling!
